Billie Eilish Paid $35 for 70 Froot Loops Boxes

Billie Eilish is an American singer-songwriter. She first gained public attention in 2015 with “Ocean Eyes”, which was later released by Darkroom, an imprint of Interscope Records. It was written and produced by her brother, Finneas O’Connell. Her successful debut EP, Don’t Smile at Me (2017) when was just 15 years and her rise to music began with “Ocean Eyes,” which she uploaded on SoundCloud two years before that. She earned fame after the success of her 2019 single “Bad Guy” which passed the Billboard 100 chart.

Billie Eilish uploaded her first song, Ocean Eyes, to her teacher at age of 13. Her older brother helps her with writing. She became a hit voice that received a singing record. When she has already achieved at a such young age must have struggled earlier too and given her most of the time in her career. She didn’t have much time to go grocery store and to know the cost of everyday items.

Billie Eilish shares in a new Vanity Fair interview where she tells a story about the time when she paid $35 while ordering online for what she thought was one standard-sized box of Froot Loops and accidentally ordered 70 boxes of cereals.

“I don’t know what things cost because I’ve never been an adult before. And, you know, I grew up with no money. It’s a really weird position I’m in. I feel kind of stupid because I’m like, I don’t know how much Froot Loops are. I tried to order one box of Froot Loops and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, sure. It’s $35.’ I didn’t know that that’s expensive. I ordered 70 [1-ounce] boxes.”

This could be the case, Walmart lists a 19.4-ounce “family size” box at around $3.64. It’s possible Eilish bought her Froot Loops from this listing, which has 70 1-ounce boxes for $35.70.

However, On social media, her story got different reactions when she shared that once she accidentally ordered 70 boxes of cereal during covid as she was not aware of the cost of one box.

Afterward, she received reactions like:

Some found Billie Eilish’s story unbelievable, with some starting to compare themselves to growing up without money.

Someone else tweeted: “But seriously, at 16 I knew how much cereal, shoes, a watch, a beach chair, and five gals of gas cost. I worry for my grandkid’s future.”

“#BillieEilish claims she grew up without money and didn’t know what things cost. That she didn’t realize that $35 for a box of cereal would be expensive. I call bullsh*t. I’ve been poor my entire life. I can guarantee you if there’s one thing a poor person knows it’s what things cost,” one person wrote.
